Before

After
A before and after of the boots. They were modified from a plain, closed-front, open-toe and -heel ankle boot with a lace-up
back. The fronts were cut open and bound with white satin ribbon. 18 small nickel grommets were added one by one using a hammer
and iron cylinder to each boot. The outer side of each boot is accented with a hand-beaded, free-form design. Gold hand-beaded
knot-work adorn the top and toe edges. Hand-embroidery in contrasting pinks weave around the grommets and end in a floral
vine design at the toe. The heels were painted gold and sealed. Five small rhinestones line the heel. Lastly, the insides
are lined with white fleece to prevent blisters and damage to the bead and embroidery threads.
